A professional food truck wrap in Dubai costs between AED 800 and AED 16,000 in 2026. Most owners who come to us for custom food truck branding on a converted van spend AED 3,000 to AED 8,000 on a full wrap. Box-body trucks, large trailers and Airstreams sit at the top of the range because they carry more surface and more difficult panels.

Three things decide your number: the size of the vehicle, how much of it you cover, and the grade of vinyl. The RTA advertising permit and design work are billed on top. Below is the full price table we use when quoting food trucks, carts and trailers at our Al Quoz workshop, plus the details that make two quotes for the same truck look nothing alike.

For context, Dunes Trailers (2025) puts the full exterior design budget for a UAE food trailer, including wraps, paint and graphics, at AED 5,000 to AED 15,000. That lines up with what we see on most trailer projects.

Pro Tip: Ask every workshop to quote the same three lines: vinyl brand and series, laminate, and whether the RTA permit is included. Without those three, you are comparing prices for different jobs.

What Drives the Price of a Food Truck Wrap

1. Size and surface area

Vinyl is priced by the square metre, so bigger bodies cost more. A HiAce-size food van uses roughly 18 to 25 square metres of film for a full wrap. A Ford Transit high-roof uses 30 to 40 square metres, and a box-body truck uses more again (Premium Prints Dubai 2026; Marhaba Advertising project data 2026).

2. Panel shape and body complexity

A flat-sided box truck is one of the easiest vehicles to wrap per square metre. A vintage van with corrugated sides is one of the hardest. When we wrapped the Citroën H Van for Venus Beach Club, every ridge in the side panels had to be worked individually so the film sat flat in each channel without lifting.

Riveted aluminium is similar. On the Airstream trailers we have wrapped for Neat Burger and Simmer, the rivet lines and curved end caps take far longer than a flat panel of the same size. Complex bodies typically add 25 to 50 percent to labour compared with flat-sided vehicles (Dubai Sports Car Rentals 2026; Monza Auto Care 2025).

3. Vinyl grade

This is where cheap quotes come from. Premium cast vinyl from 3M, Avery Dennison or Hexis costs AED 300 to AED 600 per square metre and lasts three to five years in Dubai with UV laminate. Calendered vinyl costs AED 120 to AED 200 per square metre but shrinks under heat, and edges often lift within six to twelve months (Pitstop Arabia 2026; PPF Dubai 2026).

Vehicle surfaces in Dubai reach 50 to 70 degrees Celsius in summer sun (Pitstop Arabia 2026). A food truck adds its own heat from fryers, griddles and extraction fans, so film quality matters more on a food truck than on an ordinary delivery van.

4. Coverage: full wrap, partial wrap or lettering

The rate per square metre stays the same. What changes is how much film goes on the truck. A full wrap covers every painted panel. A partial wrap covers the sides and rear, or a band across the body, and lets the base colour do some of the work. Vinyl lettering is your name, logo, menu and phone number cut from single-colour film. Our full wrap vs partial wrap comparison explains which one suits which kind of business.

5. Design and print work

A single-colour cut logo is quick to produce. A full-colour printed design with food photography, gradients and a menu board takes design time, large-format printing, lamination and trimming to templates of your exact vehicle. If you already have a logo and brand guidelines, design is usually part of the quote. Starting from nothing adds a separate design fee.

Pro Tip: Keep your menu prices off the wrap. Put them on a replaceable panel or a magnetic sheet instead, so a price change does not mean reprinting a side of the truck.

Full Wrap vs Partial Wrap vs Vinyl Lettering: Cost Compared

OptionTypical cost on a compact food vanBest for
Vinyl letteringAED 800 to 2,000New trucks on a tight launch budget, or trucks already painted in brand colours
Partial wrapAED 1,500 to 3,000Strong branding on the serving side without paying to cover every panel
Full wrapAED 3,000 to 5,500Concept brands, event and beach trucks, and anyone who wants the truck to be the sign

Most first-time owners we work with start with a partial wrap. It gives the serving side a strong look and keeps cash free for equipment and licensing. Once the truck is earning, a full wrap becomes an easy upgrade.

Food Truck Features That Change Your Quote

Food trucks are not standard vans, so a vehicle wrap for food trucks needs more planning than a delivery van livery. These parts of the build affect both the cost and the way we plan the wrap:

The Full Budget: Wrap, Design and RTA Permit

The wrap is only one line in the budget. Every branded commercial vehicle on a Dubai road also needs an RTA advertising permit. Based on the current fee schedule in our RTA vehicle branding approval guide, a full-wrap permit for a van costs about AED 1,000 a year, and heavier vehicles such as cooler trucks cost about AED 1,500 a year (Printajo 2026). Confirm the current fee for your exact vehicle before you finalise the budget.

Example 1: Compact food van, full wrap

Example 2: Box-body food truck, full wrap

Put that against the rest of your launch budget. Virtuzone (2026) estimates AED 100,000 to AED 300,000 for a well-equipped food truck in Dubai, and Dubai Business Services (2026) puts all-in licensing at AED 20,000 to AED 40,000. On a typical food van launch, a good wrap is around 5 percent of the total spend, and it is the part customers see first.

Pro Tip: Work out the cost per day, not the headline price. A AED 5,000 wrap that lasts four years costs about AED 3.40 a day, less than one menu item.

Why a Cheap Food Truck Wrap Costs More Later

We regularly rewrap trucks that were done 12 to 18 months earlier with budget film. The pattern is always the same: faded reds and yellows on the sun-facing side, edges lifting around the hatch, and cracked film around the corners. Removing that film takes longer than removing good vinyl, and it can pull paint with it.

If a full-wrap quote for a HiAce-size food van comes in well under AED 2,500, ask which film is being used. In Dubai conditions, that price almost always means calendered vinyl, no laminate, or both.

How We Quote a Food Truck Wrap

  1. Send us the basics. Vehicle make and model, a few photos of each side, your logo and what you want on the truck.
  2. Coverage and film. We recommend full, partial or lettering based on your budget and brand, and name the exact vinyl series in the quote.
  3. Design proof. You approve a mock-up on a template of your actual vehicle, with the hatch and vents marked.
  4. RTA permit. We prepare the approved artwork and coordinate the permit application with you.
  5. Installation. Surface prep, application and laminate at our Al Quoz workshop, followed by a final inspection and care guidance.

With 150+ completed projects over 5+ years, our team handles food vans, trailers and carts alongside the rest of our vehicle branding Dubai work. You can see finished trucks in our portfolio, and if you trade after dark, a neon sign on the serving side keeps the branding working once the sun goes down.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to wrap a food truck in Dubai?

A full wrap on a compact food van costs AED 3,000 to AED 5,500 in Dubai. Large vans cost AED 5,000 to AED 10,000, and box-body trucks cost AED 8,000 to AED 15,000. Simple logo and menu lettering starts from about AED 800. VAT, design and the RTA permit are extra.

Is a partial wrap enough for a food truck?

For many new food trucks, yes. A partial wrap on the serving side and rear gives strong branding for AED 1,500 to AED 4,500, depending on the vehicle. It works best when the truck’s base colour already matches your brand, so the wrap and the paint look like one design.

How long does a food truck wrap last in Dubai heat?

Premium cast vinyl with UV laminate lasts three to five years in Dubai’s climate under normal use. Calendered film often starts lifting or fading within six to twelve months. Parking in shade, gentle hand washing and avoiding pressure washers near edges all help the wrap last longer.

Does the wrap price include the RTA permit?

Usually not. The RTA advertising permit is a government fee, about AED 1,000 a year for a full-wrap van and about AED 1,500 for heavier vehicles. We coordinate the application for our clients, but the fee is billed separately. Always check whether a quote includes it.

Can you wrap a food trailer or an Airstream?

Yes. Concession trailers wrap much like vans. Airstreams and other riveted aluminium trailers take more labour because of rivet lines and curved ends, so they cost AED 6,000 to AED 16,000 depending on size and coverage. Many owners choose a partial wrap to keep some of the polished aluminium showing.

How long does it take to wrap a food truck?

Installation takes half a day for lettering, one to three days for most vans and trailers, and up to five days for large box trucks and Airstreams. Allow a few extra days before that for design approval and the RTA permit, so plan the wrap well ahead of your launch date.
