What Are Wall Graphics?
Wall graphics are large printed or cut designs applied directly to interior or exterior walls. The term covers everything from a single cut vinyl logo to a floor-to-ceiling photographic mural. In Dubai you will also hear them called wall branding, wall stickers, wall decals, wall wraps, wall murals, office wall graphics, and printed wallpaper. What they share is that the design is made to the exact size of your wall, so it fits around doors, windows, sockets, and corners instead of being hung like a poster.
Wall graphics are different from a raised 3D sign. A wall graphic is flat and sits on the wall surface, which makes it the most cost-effective way to cover a large area with colour, imagery, and text.

Types of Wall Graphics We Print and Install
Printed vinyl wall graphics
Full-colour designs printed on self-adhesive wall vinyl and usually laminated for scuff resistance. This is the most flexible option: logo walls, murals, photographic walls, timelines, and infographics. Vinyl is available with removable adhesive for walls that will change, or permanent adhesive for long-term branding. We print up to 5 metres wide in a single pass, and larger walls are printed in panels that are aligned and overlapped on site.
Custom wallpaper printing
Your design printed on a wallcovering and hung with paste, the way traditional wallpaper is. Custom wallpaper suits full-room coverage, hotel corridors, and walls that may be redecorated later. Textured wallpaper finishes, such as canvas-style surfaces, add depth for restaurants, lobbies, and premium interiors.
Cut vinyl lettering and logos
Letters, logos, and shapes cut from solid-colour vinyl, with no background. The wall colour shows through between the letters, so a quote or a set of company values looks painted on. Cut vinyl is the most affordable way to put a single-colour logo or text on a wall.
Direct-to-wall printing
The design is printed straight onto the wall surface by a wall printer, with no vinyl or paper layer. Because there is no film, there are no seams and nothing to peel, and it works on many surfaces where vinyl struggles. It costs about AED 600 to AED 800 per square metre with no minimum order.

One of the most common requests we get is simply "put our logo on the wall". There are three ways to do it, and they suit different budgets and spaces:
Printed as part of a wall graphic
The logo sits within a full-colour design, such as a brand pattern or photographic wall. Best when the whole wall is being branded.
Cut vinyl logo
A flat logo in one or two colours, applied straight to the paint. The most affordable option for a single logo.
3D logo sign
Raised letters in acrylic, stainless steel, or aluminium, which can be lit. Best for a reception wall where the logo should feel permanent and premium.

Materials
Wall Graphic Materials and Finishes
The material decides how the graphic looks, how long it lasts, and what happens when it comes off. Leading film makers produce dedicated wall films rather than general-purpose vinyl. Avery Dennison's MPI 2600 wall and floor film series, for example, is offered with permanent and removable adhesives, and in canvas, crushed stone, and stucco textured finishes.

Wall Preparation
Why Wall Preparation Decides Whether a Wall Graphic Lasts
Most wall graphic failures have nothing to do with the print. They come from the wall underneath. This matters in Dubai, where many wall graphics go into brand-new fit-outs with walls painted days before handover.
Fresh paint needs to cure
3M's wall application guidance states that “every wall paint must cure fully according to the paint manufacturer's recommendations” before film is applied (3M Instruction Bulletin: Application, Walls). Paint that feels dry to the touch can still be releasing solvents, which pushes the vinyl off the wall and causes bubbles days after installation.
Low-VOC paints reduce adhesion
Modern low-VOC paints are better for indoor air quality, but 3M notes that these “new paint formulations have reduced how well a film's adhesive can adhere to a painted wall”, and that there is “no single film or adhesive from any film manufacturer that works best on all painted surfaces” (3M: Graphic Films Meet Low-VOC Paints). The answer is to test each wall rather than assume.
We test the wall before we print
Following 3M's adhesion test method, we clean a small area with a solution of 70% isopropyl alcohol and 30% water, apply a sample of the chosen film, wait 15 minutes, and check how firmly it holds (3M: Graphic Films Meet Low-VOC Paints). If adhesion is weak, we switch to a higher-tack film or recommend wallpaper or direct-to-wall printing instead, before your graphic is printed rather than after it fails.
Textured walls need a different method
According to 3M, installing film on textured walls “requires the use of high heat, 3M's textured surface applicator tools, and unique installation techniques”, and grout lines should be no more than 3.2mm deep (3M Instruction Bulletin: Application, Walls). On blockwork or heavy stucco, we may recommend direct-to-wall printing instead.
Heat matters on exterior walls
3M specifies that the wall surface temperature should be below 38°C during installation, and textured walls should be done during the coolest part of the day. In a Dubai summer, a sun-facing exterior wall can pass that by mid-morning, so we schedule exterior installations for early morning or evening.

Use this before your installation date. If any point is a "no", tell us and we will plan around it.
- The wall paint has fully cured according to the paint manufacturer's instructions.
- The wall is clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, and flaking paint.
- Holes and cracks are filled and sanded flat.
- Sockets, switches, and vents are in their final positions.
- Furniture is moved at least 1 metre away from the wall.

Designing a Wall Graphic That Works in the Real Room
A wall graphic is seen from a doorway, a desk, or a corridor, not zoomed in on a screen. Three things make the biggest difference:
Keep key content away from joins and obstacles
On large printed walls, panel joins run vertically. We plan the panel layout so faces, logos, and text do not fall across a join or behind a socket, a switch, or a TV bracket.
Check eye level
The band between roughly 1.2 and 1.8 metres from the floor is where people actually read. Put the message there, and use the top and bottom of the wall for colour and imagery. The lower part of a wall is often hidden by desks, sofas, or counters.
Use real images at real size
A photo that looks sharp on a phone can print blurred at 3 metres wide. We check every image at print size and tell you before printing if something needs replacing.

Exterior Wall Graphics in Dubai
Outdoor wall graphics face UV, heat, dust, and humidity. They need outdoor-grade cast vinyl with UV-resistant ink and lamination, and careful timing to stay within the film maker's temperature limits. Our large format printing page explains why outdoor ink choice matters so much in Dubai sun.
Branding on an exterior wall that is visible from the street can count as advertising and may need a permit from Dubai Municipality or the relevant free zone authority before installation. Tell us the location at the start and we will advise on the approval route. For construction sites and temporary frontages, hoarding graphics are usually the better fit.
Removal
Removing Wall Graphics Without Surprises
We would rather be honest about removal than promise something no one can guarantee. Removable wall films are designed to come off more cleanly than permanent ones, but 3M states that it “does NOT warrant easy or clean removal of any film, even film described as removable” and that “removal may damage the substrate by removing paint” (3M Instruction Bulletin: Application, Walls).
If you rent your office and must hand the walls back untouched, tell us at the start. We will usually recommend removable film on a well-cured, tested wall, custom wallpaper, or freestanding graphics instead of direct application, and we can plan for a touch-up coat of paint when the graphic comes down.
