Print on Demand in Dubai: T-Shirt, Hoodie, Mug and Tote Bag Printing in Short Runs

You need 40 shirts for a team-building day on Saturday. Or 25 hoodies for a startup launch. Or 60 mugs with a new logo for the office kitchen. Bulk merchandise suppliers want you to order hundreds, and online printing platforms are built for people selling shirts through their own web shops, not for a business that needs branded apparel in its hands this week. That gap is what print on demand is for: printing what you need, in the quantity you need, when you need it.

Marhaba Advertising offers t-shirt printing Dubai teams, startups, events and brands use for short runs of branded apparel and drinkware: t-shirts, hoodies, polos, caps, mugs and tote bags, printed with the method that suits the fabric, the colours and the quantity. As a signage company in Dubai with a design and print team in Al Quoz Industrial Area 4, we handle artwork checks, colour matching and print preparation the same way we do for signage, so your logo looks right on a shirt as well as on a shopfront. For gift sets and seasonal corporate gifting, see our corporate gifts Dubai range; for engraved and name-personalised items, see custom gifts.

Two Meanings

What Print on Demand Means for Dubai Businesses

The phrase "print on demand" is used in two different ways, and it helps to be clear which one you need.

For online sellers

A fulfilment platform

For online sellers, print on demand usually means a fulfilment platform: you list designs in an online store, and each time a customer orders, the platform prints and ships that single item. That is a dropshipping model.

For businesses, teams and events

What this page covers

For businesses, teams and events in Dubai, print on demand means something simpler: printing branded apparel and drinkware in the quantities you need, from a handful to a few hundred pieces, without committing to the large minimums of traditional bulk merchandise. That apparel printing service, from custom t-shirts to mugs, is what this page covers.

Typical print on demand Dubai orders we see:

Team t-shirts and staff tees

For events, sports days, volunteer days and company outings.

Startup and launch merchandise

Hoodies, tees and tote bags for founders, early customers and launch events.

Event t-shirts

For runs, charity events, school events and conferences.

Branded mugs

For offices, cafés and client meetings.

Small brand drops

Limited runs of designs for creators and small businesses testing a product.

Reorders

Topping up sizes or replacing staff tees without reordering a whole batch.

Printing Methods

Choosing the Right Printing Method for Your Dubai Order

Custom t-shirt printing starts with one decision that shapes everything else: which printing method to use.

The printing method decides how your design looks, feels and lasts, and how much it costs at your quantity. These are the main methods used for t-shirts, hoodies and drinkware.

Full-colour DTF transfer being heat-pressed onto a t-shirt

DTF Printing (Direct to Film)

The design is printed onto a special film and then heat-pressed onto the garment. A comparison guide from AllPrintheads describes DTF as working on almost any fabric type and on both light and dark garments without pretreatment. Printify's comparison adds that DTF has low set-up costs, handles full-colour designs without extra charges per colour and makes small batches economical. That makes DTF printing the go-to method for short runs, complex logos and mixed garment colours. The print has a smooth finish that sits on the surface of the fabric.

Logo screen printed onto t-shirts through a mesh screen

Screen Printing

Ink is pushed through a mesh screen, one screen per colour. Screen printing gives bold, durable, vivid prints and becomes very economical at volume: Printify's guide puts the point where screen printing becomes the most cost-effective choice at more than about 100 shirts, because each colour needs its own screen and those set-up costs are spread across more pieces. For simple one or two-colour logos on larger runs, screen printing is hard to beat.

Sublimation printed polyester running shirt

Sublimation Printing

Dye is turned into gas with heat and bonds into polyester fibres or specially coated surfaces, so the print becomes part of the material rather than sitting on top. The AllPrintheads guide notes that sublimation works best on lighter-coloured polyester and leaves no raised layer you can feel, but it cannot print white and is limited on dark fabrics. Sublimation suits sportswear, performance tees and all-over prints, and it is the standard method for printed mugs.

Photographic design printed directly onto a cotton t-shirt

DTG Printing (Direct to Garment)

Ink is printed straight onto the fabric like a paper printer, best on cotton according to the AllPrintheads guide. DTG gives a soft feel and fine detail for photographic designs on cotton tees, though dark garments need pretreatment.

Embroidery for Premium Apparel

For polos, caps and jackets where a premium, textured finish matters, embroidery is often the better choice than print. Our custom gifts page explains how embroidery compares with other personalisation methods.

Fabric and Fit

Fabric and Fit for Dubai's Climate

A shirt that looks great in an air-conditioned office can be miserable at an outdoor event in May. Dubai's heat and humidity should shape the garment choice as much as the design does.

  • Cotton for everyday and indoor wearBreathable and comfortable, ideal for office tees, launch merchandise and casual staff wear. Heavier cotton feels more premium but warmer; lighter cotton is cooler outdoors.
  • Polyester performance fabric for outdoor and active eventsMoisture-wicking polyester dries faster and suits charity runs, sports days and outdoor staff. It pairs naturally with sublimation printing.
  • Cotton-poly blends for balanceSofter than pure polyester, more durable than pure cotton, and compatible with DTF printing.
  • Light colours outdoorsWhite and light-coloured garments stay noticeably cooler in direct sun than black ones.
  • Print size and placementLarge, heavy prints across the back can feel warm and stiff in summer; a front chest logo with a smaller back print is more comfortable for long outdoor days.
  • Size rangeDubai teams are multinational, so order a full size range, and check sizing charts, because sizes vary between garment brands.

Beyond Apparel

Mug, Drinkware and Tote Bag Printing in Dubai

Full-colour logo printed on a sublimation-grade coated mug

Mug Printing

Printed mugs are one of the most popular short-run items for offices, cafés and events. One detail matters more than any other: sublimation only works on mugs with a special polymer coating. A guide from Longforte explains that ordinary ceramic or porcelain mugs lack this coating, so sublimation ink does not adhere properly and the image peels easily, and that the coating cannot be added at home because it needs specialised equipment. When the right coated mugs are used, the ink infuses into the coating and the image does not peel or fade over time. That is why we print custom mugs only on sublimation-grade blanks.

Branded stainless steel bottle and insulated tumbler

Bottles and Tumblers

Stainless steel bottles and insulated tumblers are usually engraved rather than printed for durability, which our custom gifts page covers. Full-colour wrap prints are possible on suitable coated drinkware.

Printed cotton tote bag with a brand logo

Tote Bag Printing

Cotton, canvas and jute tote bags are practical in Dubai since single-use bags were banned in 2024, and they make useful merchandise for launches and events. Simple logos suit screen printing; full-colour artwork suits DTF. For tote bags in very large quantities as event handouts, see our promotional giveaways page.

Artwork

Artwork Checklist for T-Shirt Printing in Dubai

Most printing problems start with the artwork, not the printer. This checklist avoids the common ones.

  1. 01

    Vector logos where possible

AI, EPS, PDF or SVG files keep edges sharp at any size. If you only have a JPG or PNG, our designers can redraw the logo for approval.

  2. 02

    High resolution for photos

Photographic designs need high-resolution files at the final print size; images copied from websites or social media usually look blurry when enlarged.

  3. 03

    Transparent backgrounds

A logo saved on a white box prints as a white box on a coloured shirt. Transparent PNG or vector files avoid this.

  4. 04

    Brand colours specified

Give Pantone or exact colour references so we can match them as closely as the method allows. Screen colours and printed colours never match exactly, so we check against a printed proof for important brand colours.

  5. 05

    Print size in centimetres

"Small chest logo" means different things to different people; a size such as 9 cm wide on the left chest removes guesswork.

  6. 06

    Placement agreed

Front centre, left chest, back, sleeve or neck; each placement has typical sizes, and we show a mock-up before printing.

  7. 07

    Arabic text set correctly

Arabic must be typeset right to left with connected letters by someone who reads it, never reversed from an English layout.

  8. 08

    White elements on dark garments

Check how white parts of a design will print, especially with sublimation, which cannot print white.

What Goes Wrong

Print on Demand Mistakes We Help Dubai Customers Avoid

Sublimation on cotton

Sublimation bonds to polyester and coated surfaces; on cotton it fades or washes out. Cotton garments need DTF, DTG or screen printing.

Uncoated mugs

Ordinary mugs from a supermarket cannot be sublimated; the print peels.

Screen printing tiny quantities

Paying for several screens to print a handful of shirts in a multi-colour design is rarely sensible; DTF suits small runs.

DTF for very large single-colour runs

For hundreds of identical one-colour shirts, screen printing is usually more economical.

Dark shirts at outdoor summer events

Black shirts get very hot in direct sun; light colours are kinder to the people wearing them.

One size for everyone

A batch of all-large shirts leaves half the team swimming in fabric or squeezed into it. Collect sizes before ordering.

Low-resolution logos

Logos from email signatures and websites print blurry; source the original file.

Last-minute orders before events

Even short runs need artwork approval, printing and finishing time, so build in a few days before the event.

Pricing

How T-Shirt Printing Pricing Works in Dubai

T-shirt printing Dubai prices depend on a few clear factors rather than a fixed list.

  • The garmentBrand, fabric, weight and colour; premium cotton and performance fabrics cost more than basic tees.
  • QuantityUnit prices fall as quantities rise, especially with screen printing, where set-up costs are shared across more pieces.
  • Printing methodDTF suits small full-colour runs; screen printing suits larger simple runs; sublimation suits polyester and mugs.
  • Number of colours and positionsIn screen printing, each colour adds a screen; in all methods, each extra print position (back, sleeve) adds cost.
  • Print sizeLarger prints use more material and time.
  • TimingRush orders may limit garment choices.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions: Print on Demand in Dubai

No. Our print on demand service prints branded apparel and drinkware in the quantities businesses, teams and events need. We are not a dropshipping platform that prints and ships individual orders from an online store.

Usually DTF printing. It works on most fabrics and garment colours, prints full-colour designs without extra charges per colour, and has low set-up costs, which makes small batches economical. For simple designs in larger quantities, screen printing becomes more cost-effective.

For larger runs of simple designs. Printify's comparison puts the point where screen printing becomes the most cost-effective choice at more than about 100 shirts, because each colour needs its own screen and those set-up costs are spread across more pieces.

Yes. DTF and screen printing both work well on dark garments, and DTG can print on dark cotton with pretreatment. Sublimation is not suitable for dark fabrics because it cannot print white.

Sublimation, the method used for full-colour mug prints, only works on mugs with a special polymer coating. On ordinary ceramic mugs the ink does not adhere properly and the image peels, so we print only on sublimation-grade coated mugs.

Moisture-wicking polyester performance fabric in a light colour is the coolest choice for outdoor and active events. Cotton suits indoor and everyday wear. Sublimation printing pairs well with polyester sportswear.

A vector logo (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) or a high-resolution PNG with a transparent background, plus the print size in centimetres and the placement. If you only have a low-resolution file, our designers can redraw it for approval.

Yes. Arabic is typeset right to left by designers who read it, so letters connect correctly and the text is never reversed. We show a mock-up of every placement before printing.
