Business Cards Printing in Dubai: Premium, Bilingual Cards That Feel Right in the Hand
In Dubai, the business card still opens doors. It gets handed across a meeting table in Business Bay, swapped at a stand at Dubai World Trade Centre and tucked into a wallet after a site visit in Al Quoz. The person receiving it decides something about you before they have read a word: whether the card feels solid or flimsy, whether the finish feels considered, whether the Arabic side looks as carefully set as the English one. A thin, glossy card with a pixelated logo says one thing; a heavy, soft-touch card with a crisp foil logo says another.
Marhaba Advertising offers business cards printing Dubai companies and professionals use for teams, new hires, events and rebrands: standard and premium cards on heavy stock, soft-touch and silk finishes, spot UV, foil and embossing, bilingual Arabic and English layouts, and QR code and NFC options. Many people in the UAE still call them visiting cards or name cards; whatever you call them, the same checks apply. This page sits under our full graphics printing range. As a signage company in Dubai with a design and print team in Al Quoz Industrial Area 4, we check every card file the way we check signage artwork: colours, resolution, bleed and Arabic text, before anything is printed. For letterheads, envelopes and complete stationery sets, see our planned business card and stationery printing Dubai page.
Card Stock
Paper Weight and Feel: Choosing Card Stock in Dubai
The weight of a card is the first thing people notice, often before they look at the design. Paper weight is measured in grams per square metre (gsm). A guide from UK printer Xcel describes cards below 300gsm as feeling "like a flyer, not a card", 350gsm as the professional standard for quality business cards, and 400gsm as noticeably more substantial and a signal of premium quality.

How we usually guide the choice:
- 350350gsmThe dependable everyday standard for teams and large orders.
- 400+400gsm and abovePremium business cards for directors, client-facing roles and brands that want the card to feel substantial.
- DuplexDuplexed or layered cardsTwo sheets laminated together for extra thickness, sometimes with a coloured core visible on the edge, for luxury brands.
- UncoatedUncoated stockFor a natural, tactile feel and a surface people can write on, useful for appointment cards and notes on the back.
- SpecialitySpeciality papersTextured, linen, pearlescent and coloured stocks for creative and luxury brands.

Finishes That Change How a Business Card Feels in Dubai
Foil and spot UVMatt, Silk and Gloss
Matt and silk finishes give a clean, modern look and reduce glare; gloss makes colours and photographs look brighter. The Xcel guide recommends 350 to 400gsm with a silk finish as a reliable choice for most businesses, and notes that uncoated cards are best when people need to write on them, because coated finishes resist ink.
Soft-Touch Lamination
Soft-touch, sometimes called velvet lamination, gives a suede-like feel that the same guide says instantly reads as high-end. It is the finish people comment on when they take the card.
Spot UV
A clear, raised gloss layer applied only to selected areas, such as the logo or a pattern, on top of a matt or soft-touch card. The contrast between matt and gloss is subtle in photos and striking in the hand.
Foil Stamping
Metallic foil in gold, silver, rose gold or coloured foils applied to the logo, name or border. Gold foil on a dark soft-touch card is a classic pairing for premium business cards.
Embossing and Debossing
The logo or name is pressed up (embossed) or down (debossed) into the card for a tactile, three-dimensional effect, often combined with foil.
Rounded Corners and Edge Colour
Rounded corners soften a card's feel and stop corners from fraying in wallets. Painted or coloured edges on thick cards add a premium detail visible from the side.
Bilingual Cards
Arabic and English Business Cards Done Properly in Dubai
Many business cards in Dubai carry English on one side and Arabic on the other. Getting the Arabic side right is where many cards fall down.
Arabic and English cardsTypeset, not reversed
Arabic runs right to left with connected letters. It must be typeset by someone who reads it, not flipped or reversed from the English layout, which produces disconnected or backwards text.
A mirrored layout
Because Arabic reads right to left, the Arabic side usually mirrors the English layout: the logo and name sit on the opposite side so each language reads naturally.
Names and titles from the source
Names and job titles in Arabic should come from the person or the company, because the same English name can be written in Arabic in more than one way.
Matched visual weight
Arabic and English fonts should look balanced in size and weight, so neither side looks like an afterthought.
Numbers decided upfront
Decide whether phone numbers on the Arabic side use Western digits or Arabic-Indic digits, and use the same choice across all cards in the company.
Consistent contact details
Phone numbers in the full international format (+971), the same email and website on both sides, and the same order of details.
Set by our designers
Our designers set Arabic and English layouts in-house for every bilingual card order.
File Preparation
File Preparation: Why Card Files Get Rejected in Dubai
A business card is small, which makes every mistake obvious. Print-preparation guidance from Vistaprint covers the points we check on every file:
- BleedBleedBackground colour and images must extend beyond the trim edge so no white edge appears when cards are cut. Vistaprint's standard US-size card uses 0.125 inch of bleed on each side, about 3 mm, which is the common bleed allowance.
- SafeSafe zoneImportant text and logos must sit inside a safe area away from the trim edge, also about 0.125 inch or 3 mm in, so nothing is cut off.
- 300 dpiResolutionImages should be at least 300 dpi at the final printed size. Logos should be vector files wherever possible.
- CMYKColour modeArtwork should be in CMYK, not RGB; screen colours, especially bright blues and greens, often print duller than they look on screen. Small text and thin lines should use 100% black (K) only, so they print crisp.
- FontsFontsFonts should be embedded in the PDF or converted to outlines, so they do not change at the printer.
- PDFFile formatA print-ready PDF, ideally PDF/X-1a, keeps vectors, fonts and colours intact.
- QRQR codesThe same guidance recommends QR codes of at least 0.8 inch, about 2 cm, square, with clear space around them.
If your file does not meet these, our design team fixes it or rebuilds the card from your logo and details, and sends a proof before printing.
Sizes
Card Sizes for Business Cards in Dubai
There is no single worldwide business card size. A dimensions reference from Moda lists the US standard at 3.5 x 2 inches (88.9 x 50.8 mm), Europe and the UK at 85 x 55 mm, Japan at 91 x 55 mm and Australia at 90 x 55 mm, and recommends checking the convention of the country where the card will be used.

In practice, the size matters less than consistency: a company's cards should all be the same size, and that size should suit the card holders and wallets your team uses. We print standard sizes and custom sizes, and confirm the size before design starts so artwork, bleed and safe zones are set correctly from the beginning.
Square cards, slim cards and folded cards are also possible for brands that want to stand out, though non-standard shapes do not always fit standard card holders.
Digital Extras
QR Code and NFC Business Cards in Dubai
QR code cardsQR Codes on Business Cards
A QR code on the back of a card can link to a website, a digital contact card, a portfolio or a WhatsApp chat. Keep it at least about 2 cm square, as Vistaprint and Bitly both recommend, with clear space around it and enough contrast against the background. A QR code linking to a page you can update, rather than a fixed file, keeps the card useful even after details change.
NFC cardsNFC Business Cards
NFC cards carry a small chip that lets a smartphone receive contact details with a tap, as described in a Dubai business card guide from Kitemetric. They suit sales teams, real estate agents and anyone who meets many people at events. NFC cards still carry a printed design and usually a QR code as a backup for phones without NFC enabled. Because the chip links to digital details, the printed card stays useful when phone numbers or job titles change.
Print Method
Digital or Offset Printing for Business Cards in Dubai
Business cards are printed in two main ways, and the right one depends mostly on quantity.
Short runs and single names
Digital printing
No plates and low set-up costs, so it suits small quantities, single names and individual staff cards. A business card guide from PsPrint notes that digital printing keeps a consistent per-card price regardless of quantity, which makes it the better choice for short runs.
More than about 200 cards
Offset printing
Plates are made for each job, so set-up costs are higher, but the price per card can fall sharply as quantity rises. The same PsPrint guide says this advantage applies when printing more than about 200 cards.
For companies ordering cards for many staff at once, it can make sense to print shared design elements in bulk and personalise names digitally. We recommend the method once we know the quantity, number of names and finishes, because premium finishes such as foil and embossing add their own set-up steps.
What Goes Wrong
Business Card Mistakes We Fix Before Printing in Dubai
No bleed
Background colours that stop exactly at the edge leave thin white lines after cutting.
Text too close to the edge
Phone numbers and emails within a few millimetres of the trim can be cut off or look cramped.
RGB colours
Bright screen colours print duller in CMYK, so brand colours need checking against a printed proof.
Low-resolution logos
Logos copied from websites or email signatures look pixelated on print.
Reversed Arabic
Arabic text flipped by software rather than typeset reads backwards and breaks letter connections.
Tiny text
Very small type, especially in light colours on dark backgrounds, becomes unreadable once printed.
Inconsistent details across staff
Different phone formats, title styles and layouts across one company's cards look unprofessional. A company template fixes this.
Finishes chosen too late
Foil, spot UV and embossing need separate artwork layers; adding them after design is approved means re-preparing files.
Teams and Rebrands
Business Cards for Teams, New Hires and Rebrands in Dubai
- 01
Company templates
We set up a company card template once, with fixed layout, fonts, colours and finishes, so every new employee's card matches. HR or admin teams then just send names, titles and contact details.
- 02
New hires
Cards for new staff can be ordered in small batches using the template, often alongside welcome kits from our corporate gifts Dubai range.
- 03
Rebrands
When a company changes its logo or name, business cards are among the first items that need replacing, along with office signage, vehicles and printed materials. Our office signage Dubai, vehicle branding and large format printing teams can update the rest of the brand at the same time.
- 04
Events and exhibitions
Extra cards for teams attending trade shows and conferences, with brochures through our planned brochure printing Dubai page and stand graphics through our exhibition stand Dubai page. For trade show and conference giveaways, see promotional giveaways.
- 05
Brand consistency
Business cards are small, but they sit alongside the rest of your brand, from shopfront signs in 3D signage to roll-up banners at events. Keeping colours and fonts consistent across all of them is easier when one team handles the artwork.
Pricing
How Business Card Pricing Works in Dubai
Business card pricing depends on a few clear factors.
- QuantityLarger quantities lower the price per card, especially with offset printing.
- Number of namesEach person's card is a separate layout; many names in one order add design and set-up time.
- Paper stock and weight350gsm standard stock costs less than 400gsm, duplexed or speciality papers.
- FinishesSoft-touch lamination, spot UV, foil and embossing each add cost and set-up.
- SidesDouble-sided cards, usually English and Arabic, cost more than single-sided.
- ExtrasRounded corners, coloured edges, NFC chips and custom sizes.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions: Business Cards Printing in Dubai
350gsm is widely treated as the professional standard, and 400gsm feels noticeably more premium. Cards below 300gsm tend to feel like flyers rather than cards. For luxury brands, duplexed cards made from two laminated sheets give extra thickness.
Yes. Many Dubai cards carry English on one side and Arabic on the other. Our designers typeset the Arabic right to left with connected letters, mirror the layout so each side reads naturally, and balance the fonts so both sides look equally considered.
